Conditions for Approval

Approval signifies that the Office of Higher Education (as amended by Public Act 11 48) has determined that your school has satisfied the following requirements as stated in Section 10a 22b(c) of the Connecticut General Statutes;

  • The courses or programs offered, as indicated on the certificate of approval meet the intended objectives in terms of quality and content.
  • A comprehensive catalog is provided to students and interested individuals containing information about offered courses and programs including their objectives, duration, tuition fees and all other expenses necessary for course or program completion.
  • Additionally it includes school policies on attendance grading system, graduation requirements, job placement assistance, cancellation explanations and refund policies.
    The school possesses space along, with appropriate equipment and instructional materials to support effective instruction.
  • Directors, administrators, supervisors and instructors must possess qualifications to ensure that students receive an education that aligns with the intended objectives of a course or program.
  • Upon completion of a course or program the school will issue appropriate educational credentials to each student in the form of a certificate or diploma.
  • The school maintains records to track attendance, grades and other indicators of student progress. Attendance and performance standards are strictly enforced.

Additionally as part of the authorization agreement your school is required to make all payments as mandated by law. This includes payments towards the Private Occupational School Student Protection Account and any other relevant fees. Furthermore your school must provide notification to the Office of Higher Education at least sixty days in advance regarding any proposed changes in authorization conditions. These changes may include modifications to courses and programs offered alteration in the schools name or location (including facilities) as well as revisions, in tuition rates and fees.
